Working with 1:1 Clients & Posture Assessments
Designed for dedicated Yoga and Pilates teachers seeking to deepen their practice and elevate their teaching, this immersive workshop offers a comprehensive exploration of posture assessments and one-on-one instruction.

During this workshop we will:
- Identify the target audience who would most benefit from 1:1 personalised instruction and devise effective marketing strategies to attract new clients.
- Explore the diverse motivations behind seeking one-on-one sessions, focusing on individual goals and aspirations.
- Develop the ability to ask insightful questions that enable customisation of lessons, considering factors such as lifestyle and desired goals/outcomes.
- Distinguish between group and individual lesson planning to optimise the learning experience for each student.
- Gain insight into the essence of posture, including common postural ‘types’ and underlying causes of imbalance, while mastering techniques such as breathwork, movement, and tissue conditioning to enhance alignment.
- Review and deepen your anatomical knowledge to inform exercise and asana selection, ensuring tailored practices that address specific needs.
- Acquire proficiency in locating and identifying more than 30 bony prominences on the body for precise assessment and instruction.
- Explore the interconnected aspects of breath, mindfulness, emotional factors, and soft tissue dynamics in relation to posture, fostering a holistic understanding.
- Familiarise yourself with exercises, asanas, and use of props tailored to individual postural presentations.
- Delve into stretches and yin poses to complement clients’ yang practice, enhancing movement quality and balance.
- Build confidence in hands-on adjustments, ensuring respectful interaction and consent from students.
- Discuss prioritising health and safety considerations, including informed consent and appropriate referrals to healthcare professionals when necessary.
- Conduct a practical posture assessment and document observations, refine postural assessment skills by collaboratively sharing insights with peers for mutual learning.
- Craft a bespoke lesson plan tailored to the unique needs of one-on-one students, maximising their potential for growth and development.
About your tutor:
Clare Francis has over 23 years industry experience and has always been ‘hands on’ in her approach! She is Stott trained, qualified in sports, deep tissue and remedial massage with LSSM, completed a 10-day moving fascia embodied anatomy course in 2018 and is an experienced Pilates and yoga teacher. She has been successfully delivering teacher trainings for over a decade and is a qualified adult tutor and assessor. Pre-requisites (for CPD):
- Recognised Pilates or Yoga teaching qualification such as Yoga Alliance 200hrs, L3 YMCA, Stott, Body Control etc
- It would be ideal to be teaching in some capacity so you can start incorporating what you learn straight away, although this is not essential.
Certification: You will receive a Harmonise Training Academy CPD certificate of attendance for 3 CPD hours.
