How to teach a class in an embodied way… and why
PILATES CPD | YOGA CPD
In this 3-hour workshop, Clare Francis will guide you through a class so that you can embody this for yourselves. We will consider Tom Myers Anatomy Trains and then open up to a broader perspective, ultimately exploring how we can listen, feel and respond to bodily sensations from within for a more intuitive, student led experience. We will also discuss the numerous health benefits of this.
We will review fascia, its relationship to the nervous system and it’s ability to communicate and we will also visit the breath, posas and neurogenic release. Then we will brainstorm the use of language to invite a more felt sense, embodied experience, and look at ways of incorporating the fascial model into your existing teaching.
Weaving spirals, circles, undulations, pandiculations, pulsations, primal and intuitive movements, recoiling, rhythmic changes, repetition, shaking and release within a regular class invites your students to explore multi-dimensional movements which may open up new pathways, encourage self-healing, invite interception, increase the mind / body connection and enhance self-awareness, posture, release and presence. It will also add an additional layer to teaching from a more linear, traditional, anatomical perspective.
About your tutor: Clare Francis Former owner of Revitalise and founder of Harmonise Training Academy, Clare has been teaching Yoga & Pilates and leading groups for over 23 years. Who? This workshop is aimed at Pilates and Yoga teachers as well as fitness instructors, personal trainers and movement teachers.
Certification: All attendees will receive a 3 hour CPD certificate from Harmonise Training Academy.
