Discover how to transform your classes by incorporating weights in this 3-hour Pilates with Weights CPD workshop with Stacey Beattie. You’ll explore how resistance can enhance your repertoire, challenge your participants, and deepen the mind–body connection.

Adding weights to your Pilates classes not only delivers all the core benefits: improved core strength, increased flexibility, and balanced muscle development, it also adds the proven benefits of resistance training, which include:

  • An increase in muscular strength
  • Stimulation of bone growth – vital for helping to prevent Osteoporosis
  • Improved functional strength for more ease in everyday life
  • Reduced risk of injury – something that all of your participants can benefit from

Weights bring a new level of challenge to existing exercises while providing sensory feedback on movements enhancing proprioception. This aids focus throughout the session and invites a deeper connection between mind & body; muscles, fascia and movement.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the workshop, you’ll know how to:

  • Apply the Pilates basic principles while incorporating weights into your repertoire
  • Confidently adapt movements from the wider Pilates repertoire (e.g The Reformer Repertoire) by integrating weights
  • Understand and apply movement patterns with weights
  • Isolate specific muscle groups while assisting core stabilisation
  • Use weights to vary challenge and increase resistance
  • Deliver safe, effective, and varied workouts that enhance body awareness, build functional strength, and keep classes fresh

Who? Aimed at Pilates teachers, gym instructors, personal trainers. Group exercise leaders may also apply.

Certification: All attendees will receive a handout and a 3 hour CPD certificate from Harmonise Training Academy.
